update deer painting!

Bonjour all of you!

As you can remember I made a painting with a deer on it! It's hanging on a wall! not just my wall but at Wendy's place! I'm really proud of it and especially when I read the comments beneath the post on her own blog! She has an awesome blog with cute things, really love it!

Got a little bit curious? What are you waiting for hihi!

Busy

Really had no time to paint anything :( Last weeks were very busy! I do have a week off soon, so I will plan somedays to do nothing but painting haha! What I did do in the train travelling home or to the university was sketching.. I also did this during colleges. OOPS!

haha sometimes they are a bit weird.. but it's a sketch! I hope I will have my sketchbook filled up at the end of this semester :) Here are some of my newest sketches with pen.
I also love to draw with pencils, but somehow I can't scan them to my laptop, they're invisible! For one sketch I did use a photo of our cat ( the one with pippin on it). The rest is right away produced from my mind and fingertips!

Maybe i'll make some pictures of it with my camera.

Some bit else than my normal work, but I really like to do something while doing nothing actually.. like sitting in the train :)

Owlways

Just experimenting with the palette knives and a white owl :) what a combination! I think the owl needs just some more contrast in the wings, but the background is another big problem. If I look at the painting, a white background is not ' weird ' or something, but to plain, if you know what I mean..

At the moment I'm making the underground for the background, with kings blue. When I put white on it again with the knives it's maybe a cool effect. I will also start with a new layer on the head inlcuding the eyeballs :) now it's only some shadow

Short overview!

What a noise coming from outside " thunder"! One of our cats is hiding in my room; at a place i could not imagine a cat fits there! ahhh..
This week I was very busy with my portfolio till Word wouldn't help me anymore :( couldn't save the recovery file and Word tripped again! luckily I saved the images in another map on my mac :) so i'm happy again! haha! I adjusted the perspective of the paintings with photoshop --> warp function! :) So here's an overview from some paintings of mine hihi! Just dropped them random in this post!

Still have to do more :) like the Carp painting!
But now it's time to bake some cake and make cookies for tonight!

Have a great New Years Eve !!!

Photoshop and pensketches

Stayed at home today and started with a pen sketch inspired by a girl holding a camera. Worked it out with black ink pens, scanned the sketch and adjusted it with Photoshop CS5

New Cow

This way of painting always makes me happy! Don't have to look close in detail, but just paint and go with the brush!

I put on the acryl whitout looking how much was on my brush. You can see the different edges, and really feel them.

Waited for a too long time to make another cow! I love to paint in this wet in wet method, with clear colors. Used prussian blue with black for the dark parts, Sky blue light, king's blue and another blue ( can't remember the name ) and cobalt blue for the white parts. the 'warm' parts are quinacridone rose and transperant red light or something in that way :)

My mum already hung this one in the kitchen, even don't got the time to varnish it! haha

The varnish is reflecting because of the flashlight :)

Varnish

Varnished with a 2 inch brush ( from local DIY shop ). Acrylic varnish has a white glow, but it will dry up transparent. This week I will go to the Rembrantshuis here in Dordrecht to buy some new colors. They have a huge sale because he's going to quit with his store! (old) Hope to find some new inspiring hues :) and will buy my favorite colors!!

Ground and contour

Skipped school today oops! But I painted the underground today!
Made the first layer with the wet-in-wet method and let it dry. After that I began to repaint the contour of the fish on the ground and started the shadow with Marsblack. Only mixed it with lots of water.

Also repainted some scales of the fish, so that the contour with the dark background is more visible. After that I began with the light-yellowish stripes on the floor.. Now its in the varnish, so I will post one new pic when this one is finished all the way, including my name in the lower right corner!!

Carp update

Yes, I finally finished both carps! Yesterday I had the time for it :)
In reality the carps are brighter than on this pic. I used copper so when some light shines on them you can see them glow. Decided to make the background like a pond, only from under water. 75% sandy ground and 25% blue/green water with plants.
