Stayed at home today and started with a pen sketch inspired by a girl holding a camera. Worked it out with black ink pens, scanned the sketch and adjusted it with Photoshop CS5

New Cow

This way of painting always makes me happy! Don't have to look close in detail, but just paint and go with the brush!

I put on the acryl whitout looking how much was on my brush. You can see the different edges, and really feel them.

Waited for a too long time to make another cow! I love to paint in this wet in wet method, with clear colors. Used prussian blue with black for the dark parts, Sky blue light, king's blue and another blue ( can't remember the name ) and cobalt blue for the white parts. the 'warm' parts are quinacridone rose and transperant red light or something in that way :)

My mum already hung this one in the kitchen, even don't got the time to varnish it! haha

Varnish

Varnished with a 2 inch brush ( from local DIY shop ). Acrylic varnish has a white glow, but it will dry up transparent. This week I will go to the Rembrantshuis here in Dordrecht to buy some new colors. They have a huge sale because he's going to quit with his store! (old) Hope to find some new inspiring hues :) and will buy my favorite colors!!

Ground and contour

Skipped school today oops! But I painted the underground today!
Made the first layer with the wet-in-wet method and let it dry. After that I began to repaint the contour of the fish on the ground and started the shadow with Marsblack. Only mixed it with lots of water.

Also repainted some scales of the fish, so that the contour with the dark background is more visible. After that I began with the light-yellowish stripes on the floor.. Now its in the varnish, so I will post one new pic when this one is finished all the way, including my name in the lower right corner!!

Carp update

Yes, I finally finished both carps! Yesterday I had the time for it :)
In reality the carps are brighter than on this pic. I used copper so when some light shines on them you can see them glow. Decided to make the background like a pond, only from under water. 75% sandy ground and 25% blue/green water with plants.

Lonely tree

Started a new painting before we went to Gran Canaria for the summer. Those days I was way to busy to finish this beauty in contrast. Today I did. The only thing I had to do was the tree itself. And as happy I was when I started, I am even more happy now :).

The painting is made on a canvas board ( 3D ) 50cm x 50cm.

Waterlillies

Oh love the water surface with all those insects! Not that I love insects... YUK but when the do not come too close to me i like to watch them. I won't paint them because I think they ruin my painting. And I do want the attention goes to the flowers. the colorful parts in the painting have to be the eye catchers and not the black little spots with 4/6/8 legs or something...

Made it on a 40x40 centimeters canvas board with wooden frame.

Started with the water, wet in wet. Dried for 1 hour, and then did the 'leaves' also wet-in-wet and made the shadows with pruissian blue, ( love this hue! ) and finnaly ended up with making the flowers of course used the wet-in-wet method!

Two blogs for being creative.

A while ago I started another blog where I dump all sort of posts. Also posts with things I make. I am going to use this blog ( http://kimmonster.blogspot.com ) only for my paintings and inspiration.

The other blog http://kimmonsterhowto.blogspot.com is for everything else. :)
So if you are curious and want to know why I don't post that much on this blog, you have to look at the other one!

In two long weeks my vacation starts! Then I am going to paint like crazy!!
For now on I have to focus on getting my Propedeuse  ( finish the first year? )

Lovely

Got some new inspiration for paintings!!!
unfortunately Fieps didn't made the next day, he was too weak :( It was so said for his or little brother or sister! Now Coco has a new 'friend', a reindeer cuddly toy and a mirror which doesn't talk back, but coco is in love with it!
I hear happy quacks all the time :) Coco is doing well!!

The next picture is just a perfect composition for a new painting :)
Soon I will have the time to start with it!

Way tooooo busy!

Know the feeling? Sometimes I really think I do way to much at once, it's my own fault because i want to do way toooooo much! But i didn't paint for a while .. Unfortunately!

I did make some sketches in my dummy.. these days I take it with me every day and sketch everything what's coming up in my mind or sight ;)

When there is almost no one in my sight in the train i sketch what I see. the first one is my little sister standing to a train door ( between compartments ). I am not going to try to sketch when there are people I don't know in front of me because i think they go crazy. I think it's the Dutch temperament. They already look silly when you are sketching something out of your mind!

The left one is a part of a roof from 3ME Faculty in Delft, during practicum i sketched this one. It looks like a roof from an aold factory only new, if you get it. haha

Im picking up Snoopy (middle one) tonight so she can stay at my place yippie :)! I hope when she's staying at my place she wouldn't be that lonely, because of the other 2 died last month or some earlier.

Repaint

A long time ago I put this two cuties away because one of the right corners had a bow ( ? / bend? ) in it. Found a solution for it but not the time, until today.
My dad helped me to make a new back for the frame on the reverse side.
And also made a big enough hole in it so you don't need any other stuff like pins or wire to hang it up! I do have more painting like this... so i need more wood!
the painting only gained some weight hehe like 3 KG each! Only thing left to do is repaint the wood at the sides!

Green it is

My newest painting! I had to make a big painting and I had to make some animals. Last time I did a chicken and sheep so I decided to make some cows.

First I wanted to make my background a dark red color, maybe not the best decision because the cows can be compared with meat. Grass is green and so is this painting.

Bèèèh

Used again a 30x30cm canvas, last time i really lied the technique, so I decided to go on with it!
I want to make a whole new series of this kind of technique :) I like the number of colors used in the painting. ( painting is mirrored by my mac!! )

Didn't know how a sheepshead looked like, so I needed to find a side view of a sheep.
and used a bit of my own imagination so I put another ear on it, otherwise the painting would be dull.

When the background dried up, I started with the big lines like the contour of the head and the upper ear.
then madde the nose ( which wasn't that handy because I'm right handed so I had to be careful with the other side )

I think the neck has like three layers because i couldn't agree with the color palette haha! But now it's not  tooooo colorful as before, it was way to red, so it looked like a dead one.. hmm not good! but now it's more appropriate I think.

Almost 2000 viewers! WHOOHOO

How impressive! Never thought it would go that fast :)
Yesterday I started another blog with how I made my own clothes. I don't do it very much, but if I start I can't stop.. as always hahaha

Of course I'll post the most things on this blog because I love to paint more then making my own clothes, and my easel is always ready for me and the sewing machine not .. It takes so much time to put everything together when you want to use a sewing machine, so don't worry. I'll stick to the paintings!

Easter Feelings

With this nice weather i had to paint! Im not scheduled for today so i decided to make some homework, shop a little and paint !!
I used two different methods. you see the background is more egal, this is because i use a lot of water.. so it looks like aquarel. The chicken is also made with acrylics only with much less water! the paint needs to dry very long because its a huge layer. I also used non realistic colors in the feathers, like Ultramrine Violet ands Pthalo Blue. for the lightning i used Azo Yellow Light ( all Talens Amsterdam )
of course I used Black and white ( Galeria by Windsow and Newton) and water haha
the background is made with white and one of my fav colors : greyish blue

blue

blue bottles, only made with the camera of my mac.. so the colors are a bit different then in reality. they're much more darker and much more bright. ill try to post one made by my nomal camera if i dont forget.. Now heading home for new canvas and to get some black paint! totally forgot it last time.

Time to paint!

Yes, the time has come, no more exams :D and sleeping at my boyfriends place with a huge dining table, so i could paint all the way :) and dont have to clean everything up. love it.

here the beginning of tonight! im really tired of today, so i hope ill wake up early tomorrow to go on with this cutie canvas 30x30cm
started with Cobalt Blue Hue, and some prussian blue pthalo. mixing with white.. and you get a glass effect! Yes i use different brands of paint, because some brands dont have the color i want.. I always stick at Windsor and Newton, Reeves and Talens Amsterdam
The paintingshirt im wearing is from Talens :) got it at the competition for TalensPalet!

Sunday Cuties

Today I Finished the painting with the carps, The edges are painted black so it looks like a frame.
This two little ones, both 20x20cm are also painted today. They've the same composition but the colors make them so different. The new color I used for the first time : left one terra-cotta pot : is made with dark brown, red, orange and white. First red and white so you get pink, then mixed orange and brown with it..
Now the only thing I have to do is finding a place to hang them!
and for the next painting I want to make some poppies and more terra-cotta pots!

Fishies Part II

Ok, I admit, ITS SO DIFFICULT TO PAINT SOMETHING WHATS UNDER WATER LEVEL!
aaaarghrhrh! haha I'm sorry, but I just don't have the techniques yet to create the visual effect of water! I hope I will have it some day. Fish are very hard to paint.. I do like flowers more to paint haha so my next one will be some more floral! And no.. noooooo water plants !

I adjusted the color of the left fish, and tried to make the other fish a look-a-like. The thing which i like is the eye! i really love to make eyes. i don't know why but it gives a good feeling. An animal or something without a well painted eye, is a bad painted animal in first place. The eye makes something some more alive, and I think the eyes on this painting are the only things which are alive :P..

The painting isn't ready yet, i want to make the plants more realistic with some light fall on it, and a darker edge. but for now on, I'm happy with it and I hope my boyfriend is also happy!

Keep an EYE on my blog !
